¡§Glass Bead¡¨, originally from Western
Culture, has went through thousands of numerous interactions
with Chinese & Western cultures and traditional arts of
Chinese paleography
and has bred rich arts of Chinese style of glass beads at earlier
period of Suei Tang Time.
In addition, it is quite fascinating that native citizens in
Taiwan have created cultures of glass beads full of religious
meanings, which is unique in the world for arts of glass beads.
In order to promote attractions and international features of
this exhibition, during its exhibition time, we will invite
a critic mater of international-level of glass arts, also ancestor
in circle of glass arts in Japan, Dr. Tsuneo Yoshimizu to conduct
the most professional academic speech for us. In this exhibition,
we will also display greatest works for demonstration; at the
mean time, we also invite more writers from overseas to better
our mutual interactions, which bring more foreign perspectives
and knowledge. |

of Glass Beads |
|
Glass, which used to be named as ¡§Liu
Li (lazurite)¡¨ at ancient time; due to its transparent
and jade-like material, so it is also named as ¡§Jade
Stone¡¨. When humans first invent glass and began
to produce glass arts, they were made for purposed of religious
belief and worship; therefore, glass beads take up an important
role in historic cultures.

| Native Citizens' Community of Glass Beads |
| Glass beads are considered by native citizens
of Paiwan and Rukai Tribe as one of treasures from family and
marriage engagements. For the thoughts of traditional society,
only nobles have the privileges to own glass beads. It represents
different meanings by different beads' colors,
materials, forms, sizes, and wearing positions. |

| According to history, the one who has direct
connection with ancient glass beads was three tribes of native
citizens in Taiwan, including Paiwan tribe, Rukai Tribe, and
Bunun tribe, which amongst them, Paiwan tribe is the most dominant.
Therefore, it opens up secrets of glass beads of native citizens
in Taiwan by discovering deeper into world of glass beads of
Paiwan tribe. |

| National Noted Works of Glass Beads |
Since Year 1995, this country began to hold
activities for teaching glass beads, which have later spread
to all over the country. At the meantime, both Dr. Xu Jing-Lang
and Dr. Chen Yu-Shu open up our interactions internationally.

| At beginning of 20th Century, Europe, US, and
Japan have established associations of glass beads for interactions
of freelance writers. In the country, Dr. Chen Yu-Shu also has
participated international events frequently for accomplishing
purposes of international interactions. |

Precious glass beads not only are made with
transparent glasses but are featured with nobility like jade
stones; furthermore, they have ability to create unique colors

| In order to enhance promotion for arts of glass
beads, we initiate activities for parents & kids and encourage
those lovers of glass beads to have direct experiments with
producing glass beads. |

Art Section |
| In order to bring more impression on our glass
beads museum, we will build a large exhibition section for 12
works in the middle of our museum between entrance and exit,
and we will also decorate this section with Hongni art works,
which will make visitors' trip worthy in this
fantastic world of glass beads. |
