Route Walk: Take Bus no. 1, 1A, 2, 2A
and 31A and get off at park station. Driving Direction: Get off Hsinchu interchange to Guangfu
road to downtown direction. Turn left when meeting Food Road.
The destination is at the connection of Food Road and Dongshen
Road.
2003 Golden Glass
Award and its Final Entrance
For better recognition of glass arts in public,
we encourage glass creation and use of glass materials, and
we host this exhibition to further enhance general understanding
and appraisals of glass and further develop glass arts. Works
use glass as major materials, including single material, compound
materials, and student creation. We also invite relevant glass
scholars and experts to judge for this contest. We have chosen
28 creators as our finalists and our winners will have chance
to display their works on glass art festival this year.
International Academic
Seminar
In order to encourage communications amongst
international
glass arts and raise professional understandings & techniques
in local market, we expand Hsinchu's international perspectives
to glass. Through holding lectures & demonstrations for
glass experts from the world, we assist local industries and
citizens to further understand general concepts of international
glass arts and widen international perspectives to citizens
and local industries.
We invite glass experts from US, Jim Bowman ; from Japan, Yoshimizu
Tsuneo, Ohkama Akihiro, Kashihara Erina, & Kamada Satoshi;
from Italy, Adriano Berengo & Rosa Barovier ; from Belgium,
Koen Vanmechelen; and from Taiwan, Zheng Wu-Yu, Huang An-Fu,
& Xu Jin-Lang. At this seminar, we provide interactions
in knowledge & experiences, which help raise creation &
design levels of glass arts in Hsinchu. We also raise reputation
of this city and Hsinchu glass globally and create new perspectives
to creative industry of glass culture.
Techniques of Glass
Arts- Live Demonstration
In order to enhance citizens' understandings
of glass arts, we also enhance mutual interactions between parents
and children. We invite local masters in glass arts to demonstrate
"Cold junction technique" (core manufacturing, silk
weaving, & solid sculpturing). Its timetable is as follows:

Dec 6, 2003- Jan 18, 2004, 10am-12pm and 3pm-5pm every Saturday
and Sunday.
New Year Vacation:
Jan 21, 22, 23, Year 2004 (3days), 10am-12pm and 3pm-5pm
everyday.
